Although blogs are "peer reviewed," the phrase takes on a different meaning in this arena, right? I'm not sure this is necessarily a bad thing -- certainly science blogging will not replace publication in peer-reviewed science journals, but in the field of literature, perhaps the review process could benefit from a little contact with peers outside of the academy. In that case, the blog may be the journal of the future?
